About the Break
Head for the hills for a weekend of classic ridge walking in Snowdonia. You’ll experience fabulous mountain scenery staying in the heart of Snowdonia and walking some of the best mountain ridges in the country with an expert local mountain leader and instructor.
Capel Curig is a lovely village, popular with walkers and climbers, situated in the middle of the Snowdonia National Park. There is a choice of accommodation - the comfortable 4 star Tyn-y-Coed Hotel or the budget option of the Capel Curig Youth Hostel. We will allocate you someone to share with or you can pay a supplement for a single room.
Wherever you stay, you will experience a warm welcome and you’ll be able to relax and unwind after an inspiring day walking in the hills. The programme for the weekend is flexible and can be adjusted to suit the group and the weather. However, the walks will involve some challenging uphill sections, so you’ll need to be fairly fit with some previous experience of hill walking and a good head for heights. Once the height has been gained we traverse along the tops with minimum effort and the reward of breathtaking mountain scenery.
During the weekend your guide will be happy to pass on their knowledge of the local area, flora and fauna as well as offer the opportunity to brush up on various hillwalking skills, from navigation and route finding to mountain weather.
The maximum group size is 8 participants per walking guide. Participants should have a good level of fitness, with some previous experience of hill walking.
Please note:
For your comfort and safety on this activity you will need to have good quality leather or leather / gortex walking boots - local hire is available (pre booking essential). You will also need a full set of waterproofs (jacket and trousers), these can be provided free of charge.
Please also ensure you have a rucksack and plenty of warm clothes including fleeces, hat and gloves. We will send you a recommended clothing list when you book. -

Just a quick email from Janet and myself to say what a wonderful weekend we both had.You made us feel welcome and very much at ease and although a little stiff this morning at work, it has spurred us on to do more of these activities and hopefully more with yourselves. Many thanks once again.
