Activity: Scrambling
More than straight forward walking, but not quite rock climbing, scrambling enables you to follow steep and rocky ground to the summits.
Scrambles are graded from 1 to 3. Grade 1 is unlikely to require a rope but would involve steep and rocky ground, where good route choice is important.
Grade 2 requires the use of a rope and elementary rock climbing skills to negotiate steeper ridges and gullies.
Grade 3 is continuous steep scrambing and a rope is used throughout.
